libnet-ident-perl software package provides Perl module to lookup the username on the remote end of a TCP/IP connection, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libnet-ident-perl
libnet-ident-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libnet-ident-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libnet-ident-perl *
You will get with libnet-ident-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
